Trichocereus cuzcoensis BBG JS03

from a Berkeley Botanical Garden plant sale. Unknown BBG collection number.

Trichocereus cuzcoensis JS04

from Sacred Succulents.

Trichocereus cuzcoensis JS05

from Sacred Succulents. Came with a label noting it was grown from …of the jungle T. peruvianus seed in 1994 (1996?).

Trichocereus candicans JS12

from Altman Plants. Self fertile.

public.jpeg
Trichocereus peruvianus ‘Poots #1’ JS20

From Poot’s House of Cactus, this is in my opinion a Trichocereus macrogonus type plant similar to Trichocereus macrogonus RS0004 and Luther Burbank.

This is not their blue matucana type Trichocereus peruvianus they have growing near their sign.

Cuttings of Poot’s peruvianus #1 aka JS20 are regularly available from Cactus Affinity.

Trichocereus taquimbalensis JS30

from Sacred Succulents

Trichocereus bridgesii JS31

JS31 is used for eight seed grown plants purchased from Sacred Succulents around 2001.
A couple of these grew into much larger plants due to their better location in the garden. These have been given collection numbers JS31.162 and JS31.171.
From the original eight plants I now have many more. There will likely be no further additions to this collection number as the original plants are getting hard to distinguish from the clones.

Trichocereus macrogonus JS32

from Cactus Unlimited in Cupertino. Hail damage shown in pictures.

public.jpeg
Trichocereus scopulicola FR991 JS33

This came to me from MSS as Trichocereus scopulicola FR991.

Cuttings of this Trichocereus scopulicola FR991 are sometimes available at Cactus Affinity.

Trichocereus hybrid peruvianus x Juul’s Giant JS41

from Sacred Succulents. Seeds produced by A. Hartfield. It’s possible JS41 represents more than one clone as I seem to have two distinct phenotypes.

Trichocereus sp. BBG JS46

from a Berkeley Botanical Garden plant sale. BBG collection number undetermined.

Trichocereus sp. JS47

came to me as ‘Trichocereus pachanoi from seed’ around 2001. One of my favorites.

Trichocereus bridgesii JS66

from Geffray’s Gardens

Trichocereus knuthianus JS67

from Geffray’s Gardens.

Trichocereus huanucoensis 'Big Mac' JS81

Big Mac is a general name like Blue Torch and doesn’t refer to a specific clone.

But if there is an original Big Mac clone this may be it. This is a Trichocereus huanucoensis that has been available for many years as Big Mac. Sold by jiimz and The Succulent Source, and previously available from World Seed Supply.

This clone was designated “P7 huanucoensis” when used for some breeding projects a while back crossing it with Skip, Awful, and others

Cuttings of this Trichocereus huanucoensis P7 Big Mac are sometimes available from Cactus Affinity.

public.jpeg
Trichocereus huanucoensis JS84

from Geffray’s Garden

Cuttings of this Trichocereus huanucoensis JS84 are sometimes available from Cactus Affinity.

Trichocereus pachanoi Malo’s Ayacucho

This is an old Trichocereus pachanoi clone that can be traced back to Malo and Hemisphere’s Nursery and Trading Company. Old forum posts suggest Hemisphere’s Nursery imported this clone from Karel Knize.

Appears to fit in the LER/JS350a/Torres/Texas Torch complex.

Cuttings of this clone are often available from Cactus Affinity.

Trichocereus sp. JS94

from a small market in Santiago. Chile.

Trichocereus pachanoi KK2150 JS96

from xnk

public.jpeg
Trichocereus hybrid PC x Juul’s JS115

public.jpeg
Trichocereus huanucoensis JS129

This Trichocereus huanucoensis came from MSS with the label ‘Trichocereus huanucoensis but came as Trichocereus peruvianus.

Trichocereus santaensis JS149

from kakster

IMG_8888.jpeg
Trichocereus scopulicola FR991 JS151

From Kakster. One of two clones I received from him. "Seeds originally collected by the Nazi cactlogist Friedrich Ritter who explored remote and dangerous areas of South America, living with impoverished Indians and writing taxonomic descriptions of cacti. As a young man, he fled Mexico to avoid paying pickax-wielding workers when his family's silver mine ran out of silver. He returned to his Fatherland to enlist in the army during World War II. After the war, he wrote books on cactus and philosophy preaching ""the uselessness of sympathy"". He died in the Canary Islands."

Trichocereus huanucoensis JS159

from David. Thank you.

Cuttings of this Trichocereus huanucoensis are sometimes available from Cactus Affinity.

Cuttings are sometimes available from Cactus Affinity.

IMG_8895.jpeg
Trichocereus hybrid SS02 x (peruvianus x Juul’s ) JS228

From Sacred Succulents. They said they had two forms a and b...not sure which this is.

public.jpeg
Trichocereus sp. JS255

from MSS, came to me as T. sp. BBG #2 after Smith lost the label. Should be either Ressler’s BBG puquiensis OP, collosus OP, or pallarensis OP. I’ve got all three of those growing separately and properly labeled but will need time to find and compare this one. I’m leaning towards collosus.

IMG_8874.jpeg
Trichocereus scopulicola JS256

This came to me as “Trichocereus scopulicola long spine” from MSS.

public.jpeg
Trichocereus riomizquensis FCSS JS263

This plant came from Verne in a batch of unlabeled cuttings - it appears to be of the KK242 macrogonus type.

Very similar to Trichocereus peruvianus JS20, Trichocereus macrogonus RS0004, and Luther Burbank.

Cuttings of this Trichocereus macrogonus JS411 are sometimes available at Cactus Affinity.

Trichocereus peruvianus ex Hutchison 543b JS498

From Sacred Succulents, their description "We got this at a Berkeley Botanical Garden plant sale years ago—it looks more like a possible hybrid with one of the “wild” pachanoi rather than the original accession. Fat bluish stems with medium spines.”

public.jpeg
Trichocereus hybrid terscheckii x ? JS501
